organizations. The goal of these projects was to develop a
long-range plan that aligns the enterprise business strategy and
process with future technology initiatives, create a strategy to
improve decision-making at all levels in the organization and to
improve the operational efficiency of the enterprise. This was
accomplished through a series of tasks that include an assessment of
their current state of technology, review of business processes,
evaluation of alternatives, formulation of an implementation
strategy and development of the Technology Master Plan.

network infrastructure. Projects include, but are not limited to,
implementation of a Cisco Core Switch, Network Monitoring tools,
Network Security enhancements, organizational Security Policy,
replacement of a Dell/EMC CX-600 SAN (Storage Area Network) with an
EMC CX4-240 SAN, implementation of MS System Center Configuration
Manager, implementation of wireless technologies, upgrading the
Microsoft Exchange environment to MS Exchange 2007, implementing MS

and Presence), implementation of technologies to support Blackberry,
Windows Mobile and iPhone PDA devices and Facility Remodeling/New

|
 | Formulated a plan to utilize Virtual Server
technology to reduce the number of physical servers to meet the
needs of a growing enterprise. Implementation of virtual server
technology has reduced the overall number of physical servers
thereby saving space in the server room, allowing the enterprise to
effectively utilize the limited power resources available and
reducing the cooling requirements for the server room. Server
virtualization has also reduced the amount of time necessary to
commission a new server.

setting. Responsibilities on this project include selecting an
Electrical Engineering firm to assist with the design and
development of system specifications. This specification document
was included with an RFP to select a contractor to install the new
generator.
|
 | Championed a new enterprise wide PC Support Help
Desk system. In conjunction with the implementation of the new
software, a formal Help Desk function was also introduced and is
manned by a Help Desk Support Representative each day from 8am-5pm.
Implementation of the Help Desk has allowed the Computer Support
Team to be more responsive to our end users by resolving 30-40% of
the user requests at the Help Desk level.
|
 | Initiated a program to streamline the purchase
and installation of new PC Hardware and Software. Through this
program, the Board of Directors approved the purchase of planned
hardware and software needs for the entire fiscal year. This was
accomplished through a coordinated effort between the IT Department
and the End User Departments in the enterprise. Making purchases
each month now reduces the amount of space required to store the
equipment when it arrives and is also more manageable for Technical
Staff in regards to the deployment of new equipment. |
